Infectious Diseases Specialty Residency

The University Health Network is one of Canada's largest acute-care teaching institutions with approximately 1,000 beds. The Network is made up of three hospitals located in downtown Toronto: Toronto General Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital. 

This 12-month program will provide the resident with experience in a variety of Infectious Disease clinical settings including: the Infectious Disease Consult Service, Microbiology Laboratory, Hospital Epidemiology and Infection Control and the ambulatory Immunodeficiency Clinic.  There will also be time for optional subspecialty rotations including: Tropical Medicine, Multi-organ Transplantation and the Febrile Neutropenic Consult Service.   The resident will initiate and complete a research project, and will also have teaching responsibilities.

Applicants should possess a Pharm.D. degree (or equivalent experience), with preference given to those who have completed a general hospital residency.  A stipend of $25,000 is offered, with a starting date of July-August each year (negotiable).
