PROJECT PROPOSAL/PROTOCOL GUIDELINES
- The purpose of the project proposal is to demonstrate to Program Coordinators and Project Preceptor, in a clearly written format, the feasibility of proceeding with the research project as chosen by
the resident.
- The typewritten proposal will consist of a title page, table of contents, introduction (including pertinent background literature search information , objectives, methodology, proposed methods of
statistical analysis and references.
- The proposal need not be lengthy, but does need to clearly present the above aspects of the project to the Program Coordinators and Project Preceptor. A lengthy of five to ten pages is
sufficient.
- The written proposal must be completed during 2 weeks dedicated to project proposals in the residents' schedule. This may necessitate that a topic be selected and a literature search be
completed in advance of this scheduled week.
