P-Glycoprotein and Protease Inhibitors
All protease inhibitors are substrates of P-gp
PIs can also inhibit P-gp to varying degrees:
- ritonavir>nelfinavir, saquinavir
Interest in using P-gp inhibitors to enhance protease inhibitor concentrations, particularly in sanctuary sites (e.g., CNS)
